Pitch for Beautiful

Black clothes, silver jewelry, and hard rock music. Welcome to the life of a goth. But life is worse for Kelly Garcia (Thora Birtch). She goes to a school with noo other goths. She gets made fun of a school, and to make things worse, she has to put up with it at home, too. Her parents (Spacecek and Cromwell) claim she is ruining their "public image". She meets a young man on a walk, and they get to know each other. Then something terrible happens. This is a story of abuse, hate, and it will leave you in tears.

A Gothic girl goes to a school with no other Goths. Her name is
Kelly Garcia. Every day, she is made fun of at school, and to make
things worse, she has to put up with it at home too. Her brothers and
sisters make fun of her, and her parents try to get her to change
because she is runing their "public image". It gets so bad that she
wants to kill herself. To try to calm down she goes for a walk. On
her walk she meets another Goth who is named Russel. Russel and her
talk and she tells him about her problems. They decide to meet
again the next day in the cemetary. They do meet the next day and
Russel helps her get those feelings away from her. It just so
happens that Kellys' dad drives by and sees them talking. When
Kelly gets home, she gets beaten by her dad. Kelly gets locked in
her room 17 hours a day. The only time she is let out is for
school. About three weeks after she she was locked in, she ran away
on her way home from school. Somehow, she managed to make it to
Russels' house. Russel sees how hurt she is and talks his parents
into letting her stay there. Kelly meets some of Russel's friends. Her parents find her again and take
her back. Before she was taken, Russel said something to the effect of "Remember, you are
beautiful. Remember that life is beautiful and whatever happens to
you, I will still love you." Kelly died three hours later of abuse.
